Welcome to Jesper Velling Jewellery. We are independent, award-winning jewellers who design and create bespoke and ready to wear jewellery in our studio in the beautiful Kent countryside, just outside Canterbury.
We have over 25 years experience in creating exquisite and bespoke jewellery, and love the personal nature of our work. From engagement and wedding rings, one of a kind pieces for any occation, to our own exclusive signature collection.
What sets us apart is the personalised focus of our business, and our commitment to excellence in both our products and our service. We take the time to get to know each client, to understand their story and their preferences, and create timeless pieces that perfectly captures their vision using only the highest qualitiy, ethically sourced materials.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
I have been behind the bench for over 25 years, having graduated the ‘Kent Institute of Art and Design with a Higher National Diploma in ‘Goldsmithing, Silversmithing and Jewellery’ in 1999. During my time in college, I was lucky enough to get work experience with renowned Dutch Goldsmith, Leo DeVroomen, who taught me that precision is key and that anything less than perfect is not good enough. I have always enjoyed creating new things and pushing the boundaries of my imagination with my work, so with this advice and my new experiences under my belt, I opened my own business and workshop in 2010- and now here we are!
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
I have been behind the bench for over 30 years, having graduated the ‘Kent Institute of Art and Design with a Higher National Diploma in ‘Goldsmithing, Silversmithing and Jewellery’ in 1999. During my time in college, I was lucky enough to get work experience with renowned Dutch Goldsmith, Leo DeVroomen, who taught me that precision is key and that anything less than perfect is not good enough.
I have always enjoyed creating new things and pushing the boundaries of my imagination with my work, so with this advice and my new experiences under my belt, I opened my own business and workshop in 2010 – and have never looked back!
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS...
Throughout the years, I have been fortunate enough to to have earned 12 awards at the annual Goldsmiths Craft and Design Council Competition. The highest honour to date was The Goldsmiths’ Company in 2008 for the large Diamond Twist necklace. This included the very flattering write up… “The judges considered this piece to have broken new ground on a technical level”.
I have in more recent years been honoured by being invited to judge the competition.
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS...
Throughout the years, I have been fortunate enough to to have earned 12 awards at the annual Goldsmiths Craft and Design Council Competition. These achievements include, but are not limited to, receiving Silver Awards in several categories including: ‘3D Design’ (2006), ‘Fine Jewellery’ (2006), ‘2D Design’ (2011), ‘CAD Presentation’ (2011), ‘Diamond Mounters Senior’ (2012, 2014), and the prestigious ‘Catherine Best Award’ (2014); and Gold Awards in: the ‘Diamond Mounters Senior’ category (2007,2008,2009).

WHO WE ARE...
As previously mentioned, we’re a family-run small business; I’m the only jeweller of the company, carrying out all of the designing and manufacturing personally. My wife, Julia, is in charge of the legal and administrative side of the operation, while our eldest, Emily, is our social media manager. Family is the heart of our business, and the support from all of our friends and customers allows us to keep the business healthy and carry on doing what we love.
