This statement bridal set started with the now groom and I having a very informal conversation about his soon-to-be fiancé’s preferences of a bold and original engagement ring. We looked at images of a few pieces that she liked the style of and with this in mind, began working together on the design.
The Engagement Ring
The design was developed over the course of a few weeks, with smaller details- such as raising the tiers of the central cluster to help to give the ring more depth, and lowering each of the four corners to soften the square shape- being incorporated to create a balanced, thought-out piece.
These small but necessary details made the job more challenging as eight of the princess-cut diamonds required bespoke cutting. The four stones in the lowered corners needed to be tapered slightly, while the four central diamonds required two corners to be trimmed off to allowed them to be seamlessly claw-set.
The Wedding Rings
Designing the fitted wedding ring was a fairly simple task as the engagement ring dictated the shape of the band. However, due to the nature of her job, the bride required an additional ring without stones to wear at work. This ring was made to match the groom’s wedding band, with the addition of delicate, floral engravings.
