STARGATE ENGAGEMENT RING
This beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring was commissioned for a sci-fi obsessed fiancé. The circular claw design is inspired by the tv series, ‘Stargate’.
Central to the piece is a stunning blue sapphire, held by 18ct gold claws to the platinum bezel. The band has crossover shoulders, which are highlighted by the opposing rows of small, brilliant-cut diamonds.
The original brief from the customer was a sapphire engagement ring with crossover shoulders; it was only after talking to him in more detail about his future fiancé and her love of science fiction that the idea for the ‘Stargate’ setting came to light.
One of my favourite aspects of designing an engagement ring is being able to add elements into the design that not only makes the ring a unique, one-off piece but also has a secret meaning that is personal to the couple.
